Wind turbine climbing solution
November 1st 2009

Launched at A+A, the Lad- Saf Powered Climb Assist System from Capital Safety has been developed to provide climbing assistance and fall protection for those who work in wind turbines and are required to climb internal ladders.

With turbines now reaching heights in excess of 100m, the risk of fatigue and falling is considerable. The powered Climb Assist System incorporates its own fall arrest system. Should the user slip and fall while climbing, the cable system will lock off and arrest the fall allowing the user the opportunity to regain footing or handhold.

Unlike other powered climb assist systems on the market, the Lad-Saf system requires no secondary fall protection. It eliminates the compatibility issue of ladder safety systems as well as compatibility of climb assist systems from different manufacturers.

The Lad-Saf Powered Climb Assist System is designed to lift between 20kg and 55 kg up the ladder when connected to an individual. This provides assistance to the climber ascending the ladder, as the system essentially reduces the climber's weight thus decreasing the likelihood of fatigue affecting both the rate of climb and the climber's safety.

This is essential for individuals who either climb often or climb high structures such as wind turbines.

The System complies with all CE and ANSI standards.
