Low cost lifeline
August 1st 2006

Available from Metreel, the Safewire horizontal lifeline is described as an economical alternative to the many highly technical lifelines available.

Conforming to EN795, Class C, it provides a secure fall arrest anchor line for up to three simultaneous users.

It is suitable for straight line configurations and is installed on either a side wall or floor/roof surface with maximum support centres of 15m.

Attachment to the life line is by a stainless steel fall karabiner and passage through intermediate supports requires minimal effort a simple one-handed twisting movement.

A key element of the system is its shock absorber. Using an energy dissipation technique, the shock absorber minimises end loads to under 9kN in the event of a fall. As an added safety measure, the shock absorber offers a clear visual indication that the equipment has been deployed and therefore requires immediate inspection.

Manufactured from stainless steel, Safewire components are easy to fix without the need for special tools.
