Safety at the leading edge
October 1st 2007

Following the introduction of a work restraint system at Rickmansworth Underground station, where Composite is completing a shared car park for Waitrose and London Underground, the system is now being brought into use at all other Composite construction sites.

The system designed by Leading Edge, requires each Composite employee working on a leading edge to wear a full body harness, which is attached to an adjustable lanyard locked off to prevent the operative reaching an open edge. It is then attached to a Leading Edge lifeline. Anchorage points are determined during the building's design process.

Leading Edge was also responsible for training all of Composite's site managers and employees in use of the system.
