Aluminium frame keeps mat in place
October 1st 2006

A new, low profile entrance matting system has been introduced by Gripfit. It is designed to alleviate trip hazards and to allow wheeled traffic, such as trolleys and stock cages to flow over it unimpeded.

The system meets DDA guidelines and BS8300:2001 and was developed in conjunction with 3M and Milliken and in consultation with mat servicing companies.

It comprises an aluminium frame that is fixed in place on any hard flooring surface without the need to dig an entrance well. Once in place, the loose mat is placed within the framework and clamped securely by an upper aluminium extrusion.

Gripfit says that this puts an end to trip hazards and the problem of creeping mats.

Using a special tool, the 7.5mm aluminium frame that grips the mat into position, can be removed in seconds for regular cleaning and clipped back to hold the replacement mat.
