Fit-for-purpose
April 1st 2004

According to Degafloor, most slips, trips and floors can be attributed to three main factors: contamination of the floor; low slip resistance; and poor maintenance.

James Wright, commercial director, suggests customers should consider a number of key issues when deciding what type of flooring to install. He believes its vital the floor should be fit-for-purpose based on the extremes of typical use. Far too many floors, he says, offer inadequate slip resistance and that is a major cause of injury.

Potential customers should consider resistance to chemicals, uv light, impact and abrasion. All can affect inbuilt safety and longevity.

Cure time too is important as few companies can afford lengthy downtime.

Degafloor products are designed to be anti-slip, will not pinhole or support the growth of bacteria and can be rapidly refurbished. They are ready for use within 2h of installation.
