Helps ward off slip-ups
August 1st 2008

Polysafe Wood FX decorative sheet vinyl safety flooring, introduced by Polyflor, has been used to bring safety and good looks to St Mary's Ward at St Anthony's Hospital in North Cheam.

The decorative appeal of the flooring is matched by its slip-resistant performance.

In common with all Polysafe ranges, Polysafe Wood FX complies fully with HSE guidelines, providing sustained slip resistance throughout the guaranteed life of the product. The range achieves 36+ on the RRL Pendulum wet test (Slider 96/Four S rubber) with a surface roughness of 20 microns and above to ensure a low slip risk classification is achieved.

Polyflor says the product has been independently tested and that results demonstrate that it inhibits the growth of MRSA on the flooring.

However, the company points out that an effective cleaning regime is the most important defence against infection.
