Mary rose workers on secure footing
August 1st 2007

Crossgrip safety matting from Plastic Extruders is playing a key safety role in conservation work aboard the Mary Rose, one of Henry VIII's favourite warships.

Day and night, water soluble wax is sprayed onto the timbers. This creates slippery conditions underfoot. To help overcome the risk of slips, Crossgrip matting was installed on the access platform which runs the full 30m of the hull.

Made with flexible 100% PVC, the deeply-etched open grid surface is self-draining, resistant to chemicals and organic growth and maintenance-free.
