Mats ease pressure
December 1st 2004

Royal Mail has selected Cobas Fatigue Fighter II anti-fatigue matting for its state-of-the-art Jubilee Mail Centre in Middlesex.

About 700 employees work at the Centre and for many machine operators, the job entails prolonged periods of standing at mail processing machines, interspersed with regular breaks.

It is in the busy sorting hall that 30 Fatigue Fighter II mats have been installed. The matting has a dual layered construction that is said to provide superior comfort and wear resistance. The top surface, made from pvc foam, is resilient and the low density bottom layer gives underfoot cushioning reducing pressure to the back, legs and feet from prolonged standing.

Operators previously stood on a concrete floor and are much appreciating the benefits of the anti-fatigue matting.

Available in black, blue or green, the matting is available in a variety of widths and lengths up to 18.3m.
