Quick cure for floor
December 1st 2008

When a metal packaging manufacturer decided to apply traffic safety signs to areas of the factory floor, RapidShield, a UV-curable floor coating system from Quaker Chemical was recommended.

Applied to a prepared, clean floor, it is cured instantly by a portable unit that emits UV-light, turning the coating into a solid film which creates a strong bond to the substrate. The fast cure means that within minutes, the floor can be used.

The Delmar Group used a planetary grinder to prepare the area and, using rollers, applied RapidShield coats of clear, safety yellow and antiskid to create five durable 4m STOP signs and three Zebra stripes -each taking about 60min.

Non-flammable, low odour RapidShield contains neither solvents nor isocyanates and complies with VOC and HAP regulations.
