Slip resistance April 1st 2006 Dockland Light Railway’s commitment to maintaining high standards has included a recent refit of service stations.
DLR’s existing maintenance platform was constructed in metal. As a low maintenance and cost effective alternative, the company opted for a Fibreglass Grating decking system.
The grating is said to have one of the highest degrees of slip resistance ever measured for a walking surface, especially in wet, oily or frosty work areas.
The integral gritted, antislip top provides longlasting slip resistant qualities. The material also offers corrosion resistance.
For this application, the 135m wash bay platform was installed by a four man team in just two days, with minimum disruption, and is expected to provide a low maintenance, safe surface for years to come. More articles from Dura Composites Ltd: |
