Slip solution for ice grotto
May 1st 2009 Over 400sqm of Vynagrip matting
from Plastic Extruders has been laid
in Zermatt's famous ice grotto
situated in the shadow of the
Matterhorn comprising a 350m long
tunnel hewn into the heart of the
glacier, 20m below its surface.
The safety matting provides
visitors with a slip resistant and
comfortable surface on which to
explore the grotto because the open
grid format helps to dissipate snow,
dirt and water. The large roll format
means that over 12sqm could be
covered in a single piece which
reduces seams and potential trips.
The matting was selected because of
its proven performance in tough
