Slippery problem solved by matting
December 1st 2005

Weir Strachan is one of Europe's leading companies involved with the defence and nuclear industries.

However, spilt oil used to make its floors slippery and a safety risk, especially near workbenches.

To overcome the problem, slip-resistant Vynagrip matting from Plastic Extruders has been installed. This can be cut to the appropriate length, so it can be rolled easily and resited as required.

Made from PVC in a gridwelded format, Vynagrip is oil and chemical resistant and very hard wearing. The grid format provides drainage and the extra deep etched top surface provides slip resistance to DIN 51130- R12.

The matting is said to be comfortable to stand on and to reduce working fatigue.

Its flexible composition also provides cushioning that reduces damage to components accidentally dropped.
