Vet aims to cut slip-ups
April 1st 2007

A vibrant blue, multi-flake colourway from the Polysafe Strata range of sheet vinyl safety floors from Polyflor is helping keep pets and people safe at the Peak Veterinary Practice, Matlock.

Veterinary surgeon, Andrew Dorman, says "We wanted a safe, attractive and easy to maintain flooring and Polysafe Strata fully met our requirements." The flooring was installed in the reception and waiting areas, as well as in the treatment room.

Incorporating quartz crystals, aluminium oxide and silicon carbide particles throughout the product thickness for good traction and safety underfoot, Polysafe Strata can be welded at the seams and to coved skirtings to create continuous, impervious surfaces.

As well as meeting EN13845, the range conforms to HSE guidelines, achieving a sustainable slip resistance value of >36 on the RRL Pendulum wet test (using Four S rubber slider) and a surface roughness of Rtm >20µm.
