Winner at Whittington
October 1st 2007

Kee Klamp has helped Islington Council meet the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act with a new tubular handrail system at Whittington Park, created using components from its 500 Series.

A £500 000 project to improve facilities has seen the introduction of a new artificial football pitch, complete with new access ramp and handrailing. More than 65 linear metres of handrailing has been fitted to ensure safe access for all.

Jim Bennett, contracts manager at Spade Oak Duracourt, says "Safety was a primary concern when constructing the new football pitch in the park.

The 500 Series fittings enabled us to design and assemble a safe and strong solution quickly and easily which meets the Building Regulations requirements and complies with the DDA specification."
