Free safety posters
December 1st 2005

Six HSM readers will each receive from Heath Technical Services a free poster giving simple rules for ladder safety.

The A3 Safety Point poster features the adventures of Careless Ken and is aimed at those who use a ladder at work or home.

After basic rules, it typically tells Careless Ken to face his ladder when climbing, use a hanger or tool holder for buckets or tools and to keep his weight in the middle of the rung.

There are about 1200 major injuries a year from ladder accidents and, in an attempt to improve safety, the HSE recently held a 'Ladders Week' initiative in which it worked with ladder users and employers to promote sensible measures to cut accidents.

For a chance to win a poster, simply contact the number below.
