Assesses slip risk
February 1st 2005

Taylor Hobson reports a sharp rise is the use of its Surtronic Duo, a portable surface roughness meter.

This follows the HSE’s introduction of Slip Assessment Tool (SAT) software that assesses slipping accident risk.

The Surtronic Duo is a portable surface roughness instrument that allows the user to measure, analyse and assess the surface of flooring on-site.

For ease of use, it splits into two parts, allowing the measuring head to be placed on the flooring and the measurement to be made via remote control.

The result can then be fed into the HSE SAT software to provide an indication of the level of slip risk.

The device can be used to assess a wide range of flooring materials found in the workplace.
