MEETING THE NEW LEGISLATION
October 1st 2004

FibreGrid has developed a new product to deal with Part III of the Disability Discrimination Act.

The company points out that the relevant part of the Act, in essence, states that all stairs accessible by the public must have a contrasting coloured nosing fitted and, in addition, the nosing should have a slip-resistant surface.

EdgeGrip, a pre-formed robust fibreglass profile meets the required criteria and fits neatly onto most stair treads. Its silicone carbon grit top finish provides a long lasting slip-resistant surface, even in busy environments. The feather edge, at the back of the profile, has been designed to eliminate trip hazards. Although available in any colour, yellow is stocked as standard.
