Reflective safety rope
August 1st 2006

When textile technologist Paul Hall tripped over a mooring rope in the dark while on a boating holiday he vowed to develop a solution to prevent others from suffering the same fate.

Recognising the versatility of Scotchlite reflective material from 3M, he used his expertise to develop the Genesis Reflective Rope, a cabled rope combined with a coiled Scotchlite retroreflective tape.

Scotchlite reflective material incorporates tiny glass beads that bounce light directly back to source. Inherent in the entire length of the rope, the beads catch and reflect light, making the rope visible on approach from any direction.

Paul Hall comments "There is major potential for this product. When used as a guide rope in public places, it provides a safe, visible walkway instead of a series of obstacles and hazards that could cause a trip or fall."

It can also be placed around a broken-down vehicle.
