September 1st 2009 Safesite has installed a comprehensive
roof safety system for Royal
Holloway, University of London in
Egham to allow safe maintenance of
plant and machinery situated on the
College's Physics building.
The Physics Department's buildings
comprise four linked roof areas and a
lower workshop roof, all of which
required a safe means of access for
maintenance of plant and equipment.
Following a survey and assessment of
the roof areas by Safesite, System 2000
freestanding guardrail was
recommended to provide edge
protection on the roofs themselves as
well as to protect fragile roof lights
which are situated along the roofs.
The System 2000 guardrail
provided a permanent solution
without the need to mechanically fix
