Tight access overcome
February 1st 2009

A-Plant Powered Access has supplied narrow electric scissor lifts to Media Structures for television coverage of a Blue Square Premier League football match between Mansfield Town and Oxford United. The units helped overcome tight access and working space at the Mansfield Town ground, which prevented the use of the specialist scaffolding normally used to build camera towers.

The 1.2 m wide passage alongside the pitch was no problem for the five 2646ES scissor lifts. When raised, the steadiness and non-skid nature of the large 1.12 m x 2.5m aluminium decks on the lifts is claimed to make them ideal for cameramen to carry out their work on. An efficient electric drive also means the scissor lifts provide longer work cycles than other electric scissor lifts on the market.
