Signed up for training

Sign maintenance company, Xmo Strata, is sending engineers on further training to enhance their skills in the operation of site machinery and equipment.

Engineers are currently attending a four-day course to gain a National Plant Operators Registration Scheme operators card. The course covers hazard identification, load weight assessment, the operator's safety code, relevant legislation, slinging techniques and the inspection of equipment.

Steve Martin, MD, explains "Signware can weigh up to 2t and when it is necessary to lift this into position using a crane vehicle it poses a significant risk."
