COMPETENCYBASED SCHEME
October 1st 2007

Safety Solutions (UK) provides Level 3 to 6 qualifications, enabling safety practitioners to gain membership of IOSH. While the NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety is the academic route to the Chartered Membership grade, Safety Solutions has introduced a competence based route for experienced safety practitioners. City & Guilds NVQ 4 in Occupational Health and Safety Practice does not involve written examinations. Candidates reenforce knowledge and prove competence in the professional activities that a safety practitioner carries out in day-to-day functions. Anyone who has gained the NEBOSH General Certificate or Level 6 (Unit A) or Part 1/2 Diploma in the past five years can take part in the following specialist certificates ‘fast track’ programme: NEBOSH certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management; NEBOSH National General Certificate in Construction and NEBOSH National Certificate in Environmental Management.
