Kettlethorpe High School in Wakefield and Abbot Beyne School, Burton-on-Trent have been announced joint winners of a national competition for short films alerting students to the dangers facing young people in the workplace.

The British Safety Council competition required students to produce a two-three minute dvd or video on potential dangers in the workplace and the messages they would like to get across to employers.

Kettlethorpe School based their message around the music of the song "Y.M.C.A", using their own "S.A.F.E" lyrics.

Abbot Beyne School based their message around a young child playing with building blocks, interspersed with shots of the last moments of his brother's life on a building site before being killed by falling objects.

All of the members of the winning teams were presented with a digital camera and HMV vouchers worth £50.
