Training reevaluation a must
September 1st 2009

According to a new report, technical innovations designed to improve transport and logistics safety have in some cases led to falling standards and an increase in accident numbers.

Report author, RRC Training, says increased automation in modern vehicles strips driver engagement down to the bare minimum, rendering them mere autopilots – and that can lead to costly concentration lapses.

Experts contributing to RRC's report believe driver training must be reevaluated so drivers know how to use all the technology on the vehicle and so are more engaged with the job.
