Global gurus at drink & drug driving course

Road safety practitioners from New Zealand and the Netherlands will join a panel of experts on drink and drug driving at a one-day conference, organised by Brake, the road safety charity, at the Royal College of Physicians, London, on 13 May 2009.

The conference explores methods for tackling drink and drug driving. Topics include: latest research into the effectiveness of roadside drug testing devices; enforcement of drink and drug driving laws; and development of effective policies to prevent crashes.

Expert speakers include: Sjoerd Houwing, Senior Researcher, Institute for road safety research (SWOV), the Netherlands - Drink and drug drivers across Europe Dr Mark Young, Brunel University - Hung over? The risks of morning-after driving Superintendent Paula Rose, National Manager, New Zealand Road Policing - Compulsory breath testing in New Zealand: a deterrent? The fee is £126 (+VAT) for Brake Professional subscribers or £166 (+VAT) for non-subscribers.
