Keeping staff properly trained and
actively encouraging them in their
professional development is key to
plugging the skills gap, according to
course tutor, Brian Nicholls, of plant
and machine training specialist,
Alliance Learning.
He says: "There is an acute
shortage of skilled labour in the UK,
and we are urging both employers
and employees to think about their
long term training and
development. Access to specialist
courses is imperative in order to
drive economic growth.
"What we are looking to achieve
from our courses is to raise the
skills level of those working with
plant and machinery. School leavers
and graduates or those who have
taken up careers and have been
learning on-the-job for a number of
years can all gain new skills,
improving their attractiveness to
future employers."
Alliance Learning offers a range
of courses, including the Plant
Operators NVQ course which it can
offer fully funded, subject to
eligibility. The course is designed for
people who work with the
movement of heavy goods and plant
and machinery, looking to gain a
recognised qualification. More articles from Alliance Learning Ltd: |
