Three-part noise course
December 1st 2007

A three-part Noise at Work Competency Course has been introduced by First Stop Safety.

Part 1 consists of a Distance Learning CD which the delegate can go through at their own speed. This introduces the new Control of Noise at Work Regulations, use of various noise meters and relevant terminology.

Part 2 is a full day indepth workshop held at First Stop Safety's training facility in York. Delegates carry out a number of measurements and use these to produce noise surveys.

They also learn how to choose adequate hearing protectors, methods of controlling noise, and the part audiometry plays in managing excessive noise levels at work.

Part 3 is a workplace assessment. Delegates carry out a noise survey in their own workplace and submit a report to First Stop Safety.

This ensures that they have understood the principles and can apply them correctly.

The company also offers a one-day industrial audiometry course.
