The heat is on: Driver of the Year, first regional event of 2009 takes place at Sandown
February 1st 2009

Combilift, the specialist manufacturer of 4-way forklifts is once again exhibiting at Health & Safety '09 Sandown. As well as showing its latest product, the compact Combi-CB, the company will be hosting the first regional heat of the 2009 Combilift Driver of the Year Competition.

Regardless of any economic constraints, operations cannot afford to compromise on safety, and the Combilift range allows even the most awkward loads to be handled securely. 4-way capability enables the sideways transportation of long loads whilst resting on the truck's platform, avoiding high level handling and minimising the risk of truck turnovers for a major contribution to improved safety procedures.

With truck capacities from 2.5 to 14 tonnes, there is a Combilift model to suit practically any application. The customised range features LPG, diesel or electric power.

The Driver of the Year event is back due to popular demand, and participants will be demonstrating their skills at the wheel in very tight confines over a timed course designed to test their accuracy, control and technical knowledge.

In order to ensure the highest quality of adjudication, this southern heat will once again be overseen and judged by a representative from Mentor Training, on of the UK's leading providers of operator training.
