Dvd aims to raise safety awareness
April 1st 2008

A new DVD from SGB aims to help raise awareness of safety responsibilities, especially in the light of the Corporate Manslaughter and Homicide Act which came into place on 6th April.

The 14min DVD called In the Real World is based on real incidents. It demonstrates how, as a result of relatively innocuous procedural carelessness and a lack of individual safety leadership, an accident can become a tragedy. While not intended to be a direct response to the new Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act, the DVD aims to raise awareness that collective and corporate responsibility is paramount and that safety culture in every construction-related business has to start at the top.

In the Real World is available free on request and SGB asks only that a donation be made to its chosen charity – Cancer Research UK.
